Saxony-Anhalt goes Digital - State Minister Dr. Lydia Hüskens at FEM

Approximately 30 faculty members  from the Faculty of Economics and Management enjoyed an interesting evening packed with exciting information and discussions. The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Karim Sadrieh, invited faculty members and the State Minister Dr. Lydia Hüskens, responsible for the field “Infrastructure and Digital Affairs” in Saxony-Anhalt, to a fireside evening on 7th May at the Faculty Center.

What can we expect when politics meets science? This initial skepticism of one or the other participant was quickly eased. The Minister was accompanied by State Secretary and CIO of the state, Bernd Schlömer. His opening speech on the topic “Digitalization as a driver of innovation for Saxony-Anhalt”, started a lively discussion about reducing bureaucratic hurdles, establishing a new culture that allows for mistakes, a suitable support for local start-ups, etc.

Last but not least, Dr. Kathrin Meyer-Pinger – was awarded with the Faculty's Special Award for “Excellent Research Achievements and Outstanding Commitment”. Congratulations!
