Tools of the FEM
The tools of the quality development and management system inform about the content, organization, and parameters of study programs and teaching. They initiate a communication impulse for the direct exchange as well as for the advancement of the curricular, the individual quality of teaching, and the study behavior.
The study program talk, the study program conference, and the Day of Teaching are dialog-oriented tools for quality development and management for the study programs at the FEM. Furthermore, study program specific data (survey results from data acquisition at the OVGU and from high education statistics as well as results of the teaching evaluations), and/or feedback (e.g. from university external or internal experts) may be consulted in order to accomplish quality development and management in study programs and teaching.
The basis for quality development and management of our study programs is the quality criteria catalog of the OVGU. The OVGU quality criteria were developed on the basis of the central guidelines of the OVGU for study and teaching as well as according to the regulations of the accreditation commission, the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs, and the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area. The adherence of every study program of the Faculty of Economics and Management to these quality criteria is continuously checked.
The study program talk is conducted generally once a year under the stewardship of the respective study program director and addresses several criteria from the quality criteria catalog of the OVGU. All status groups of the faculty that are involved in the study program will be invited.
The study program conference is a tool for quality development and management of the study programs that includes external expertise, esp. Alumni, professorial experts or lecturers of other academic institutions, as well as representatives from the professional field. It is conducted occasion-related, but at least once during the quality cycle of 7 years.
The FEM-internal Day of Teaching is conducted according to schedule or occasion-related, however generally once a year under the stewardship of the Dean of Study Affairs. Discussion topics of this day include the entirety of the study programs or the faculty, as well as the entirety of faculty-related quality criteria, expedient solution possibilities, and tangible measures and their efficacy as appropriate.
