Prof. Dr. Reichling - President of the Board of the Otto-von-Guericke Society e.V.
The Otto von Guericke Society e. V. recently elected a new Executive Board, and Professor Peter Reichling, Chairholder of Finance and Banking at the Faculty of Economics and Management, has been chosen as the new President of the association.
We congratulate Prof. Reichling on his election and wish him great success in his new role. You can find the official announcement from the society and a photo of the newly elected board here.
The OVGU Info Day, May 6, 2025: Study or Work Abroad!
The Markt of Opportunities:If you are interested in a stay abroad during your studies take part and come by on Tuesday, May 6 in building 01, Campus Service Center. Starting with an info event from 3 pm you can get information, tips and brochures on studying or internships abroad at the International Office's, and talk to advisors. A following event, from 5 to 7 p.m., the “Study & Travel” talk invites you to get insides of experiences from fellow students, who recently completed a semester abroad in France, Italy, Thailand, or Mexico.

Dear students,
In order to enable a successful start of your studies and thus to facilitate the beginning of your new phase of life, the introduction days for the summer semester 2025 will take place at FEM in the period from April, 1st to April, 4th 2025. All dates for these introduction days, as well as important information about orientation at OVGU, can be found on the following website. There are also other interesting event offerings during the first week of lectures!
It starts on Tuesday, April, 1st 2025 at 2.00 p.m. in building 22 lecture hall 2 with the central opening event of FEM and the welcome by the Dean of study affairs, Prof. Dr. Sebastian Eichfelder. The event will take place in presence.

Registration for all Master Seminars, Scientific Projects, mandatory bachelor seminar (Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen und Volkswirtschaftlichen) are possible from now on
Dear students,
from now on, registration for all Master Seminars, Scientific Projects, mandatory bachelor seminar (Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen und Volkswirtschaftlichen) as well as for the Bachelor Thesis Seminars in the summer semester 2025 is possible via the E-Learning Portal OVGU - course area "Studiendekanat". Registration is possible until Friday, January 31, 2025 at 23:55!
For further information on the allocation of places and scheduling in the mandatory bachelor seminar (Wirtschaftswissenschaftlichen und Volkswirtschaftlichen) as well as for the Bachelor Theses in the summer semester 2025, please visit the website of the Dean’s Office of Study Affairs under the section "Information on Bachelor programs".

In Memory of the Architect of the Faculty Building
According to recent media announcements, Peter Kulka, architect of the faculty building “Vilfredo Pareto” the OVGU building 22, passed away at the age of 86 beginning of February.
People interested in the OVGU architecture’s history from the mid-90s, ... can check out further information here. Peter Kulka (Wikipedia) has truly left a very special building (G22) on OVGU campus. A, so called, eye-catcher providing a space for academic and human encounters by structure and brightness. Now it is up to us to honor his work.
